Family History
I scan
old family memorabilia into my computer and then
manipulate the images using Photoshop, primarily
changing the scale and resolution. I then create
paper "plates" that I ink like lithography plates and
incorporate into my monotypes. Recently I have been
experimenting also with solar plates. I start the
same way, but print my images on acetate and then use
the acetate as the "negative" when I expose the solar
plate to light. The plates are then inked and printed
like any etching plate.
